Catholic Radio Station in Juba - Closed!

Dear Partners,
Dear Friends,
Greetings. From below is the message of our Radio Coordinator-she was with us in Malawi for the 18th AMECEA Plenary.

"With the present letter I wish to inform you about the closure of Bakhita radio, the radio of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba. It has been closed this morning by the national security and one of its staff is still detained.

The reason is an alleged misreporting related to the recent fighting in Unity and Jonglei. The exact dynamics and reasons are still to be clarified.

I therefore request for your support and prayers so that the radio can resume its services and in particular that the staff under arrest can be released soon.

With hope",

Enrica Valentini
